County to begin bridge work on Coleman Station Road

Poughkeepsie… The Dutchess County Department of Public Works (DPW) has announced work is scheduled to begin next week to replace County Bridge N-36 on Coleman Station Road (CR 58) over the Webatuck Creek in the Town of North East. 

County Executive Steinhaus, “This bridge replacement project is part our continuing effort to maintain and revitalize the county’s roadways.”

The 72-year old bridge is to be replaced with a reinforced concrete three-sided structure with stone masonry parapet walls.   Starting Monday, April 25th, motorists along this section of Coleman Station Road will be detoured to NYS Route 22, to Downey Road, to Indian Lake Road, and then back to CR 58. 

Construction will be ongoing throughout the spring and summer with work expected to be complete by early fall 2011. 

Coleman Ridge Road averages approximately 300 cars per day.

The low bid award for the bridge replacement project totals $565,000   The project is eligible for state and federal reimbursement in excess of 80% of the project cost.
